Distinguished Speaker Series  educates large-scale audiences on the latest early childhood development research and best practices. The Series is the first of its kind in East Baton Rouge Parish. Research-based presentations engage nationally-recognized scholars to address what it takes for prekindergarten children to be successful in kindergarten and first grade, regardless of their socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

MASTER Teachers (Math and Science Teacher Excellence Rewards) is a comprehensive, intensive professional development initiative which improves the knowledge and teaching ability of pre-K teachers serving zero to three years in East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Focused on interactive, creative math and science curricula, pre-K teachers receive ongoing coaching, mentoring, and high-quality instructional resources to improve student achievement. This ties directly to the national STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) program.

Parent Honor Roll (PHR) recognizes the vital role parents undertake in the education of their children and supports their active engagement. PHR is a three-tiered program which encompasses parent education, relationship-building and motivational rewards. It encourages economically-disadvantaged parents to increase their involvement in their children's education. Focused on at-risk students in EBRPSS, anticipated results include increased attendance rates, reduced disruptive behavior and increased student achievement.
